Another example of this design is shown in Kromp's Buntpapier Catalogue #3, 2018, item #90, where it is described as a missing link between decorated papers as a generic consumable and publisher's bindings. Also note the similarities between this and the two matching floral blockprint wrappers, 22.027 (1794) and 23.021 (1801)
