Collector's Notes:
The surface decoration seems almost to have been painted onto a very long-fibred covering material, resembling cotton batting or asbestos. Polarized light microscopy suggests the former based on characteristic corkscrew fibers. Gift from T. P. Content on rulers lists Victoria I as present monarch as of June 20 1837. Another listing here dates a ‘New Edition’ of the book at 1846 according to COPAC. https://www.geni.com/people/Thomas-Richardson/6000000027234412207;
