A Lyon. 1796.

Limp paper binding with a secondary veined-sprinkled paste paper covering. Manuscript paper spine titling label.
Paper:
Black veined-sprinkled paste paper
Collector's Notes:
I previously had this paper listed as an example of tupfpapier, i.e. directly dabbed-on paste color. The directional (and very consistent) veins in this example rather suggest a primary random sprinkling or spray of black paste followed by a second pass with a brayer, sheet of paper, or some other tool.
