The green colorant was identified as Emerald green (copper acetoarsenite) via x-ray fluorescence in June 2024. The white glazed background coloring contains lead.
Collector's Notes:
This pattern is reproduced in Haemmerle, albeit in black and white, as part of the Alois Dessauer sample book, c. 1840 (p. 167, #11). In the original sample book the pattern appears many times in multiple colorways—f. 60 #7; f. 62 #129, 133; f. 63 #11; f. 73 # 29, 31, 59—and while none are an exact match for this wrapper, the palette is well represented in several other designs.
