Title:
Gott ist die reinste Liebe. Mein Gebeth und meine Betrachtung
Author:
M. H.
Imprint Date:
1768
Publishing Colophon:
Binding:
Full red-dyed alum-tawed binding with heavily tarnished gold tooling and block-printed endpapers. Manuscript textblock.
Paper:
Three-color blockprint over slightly pinkish glazed surface-coloring: black, blue, and orange in an erratic floral, line, and abstract shape design
Collector's Notes:
A true heart's-work. Full manuscript text, including red and green Fraktur-style titles. The brightness of the dyed alum-tawed is spectacular, and the metallic tooling has so far degraded that it resembles smoke-tooling in all but a few places. The endpapers look retro-futuristic... would never believe them to date 200 years earlier without seeing them in context.
