Collector's Notes:
Dating is approximate based on stylistic elements (color, scale, squelchiness). Another example of this pattern is reproduced without attribution in Sierpapier & Marmering (1994) #83, p. 89. Trimmed corners, turn-in soiling, and symmetrically punched holes for fore-edge ties evidence previous use as half-covered book board (spine and corners covered with leather or, more likely in this case, parchment). Pigment offset on the back of the sheet suggests possible use over the top of an existing marbled paper covering.
