Collector's Notes:

The original colors are only visible at the turn-ins protected by now-lifting pastedowns. The areas of red-orange are blistering and darkening in a manner I’ve never seen before on a blockprint, but which calls to mind the darkening of vermilion-colored textblock edges.

This pattern is reproduced in a different colorway in Mick's Altes Buntpapier and attributed to 1840 Varese (pp. 72-73); this is potentially corroborated by its presence in a c. 1924 sample book of Rizzi papers, famously printed from original Remondini woodblocks.
